  • Speaker Bio:
    Peter Hand is president of the Asia Pacific and Japan region for Teradata. In this role, he leads the Asia Pacific and Japan teams for Teradata sales and professional services associates across the communications, financial, government, insurance, manufacturing, retail, transportation and travel industries. Hand is a member of the Teradata leadership team reporting to Mike Koehler, president and chief executive officer of Teradata.

    Hand is responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of critical solutions in enterprise data warehousing, business intelligence, customer relationship management, demand chain management and supply chain intelligence for many of the region's most successful companies. Under his leadership, the region has sustained solid revenue and customer growth across multiple industries. Teradata customers include ten of the top ten global telecommunications companies, 66 percent of the top global airlines, 83 percent of the top transportation logistics companies, 70 percent of the top global retailers, and 60 percent of the top global commercial and savings banks.


    Previously, Hand was vice president for the Asia Pacific and Japan region. Before that assignment, he held a Singapore-based position as vice president of the division with responsibility for the strategic direction and operational leadership within the Asia Pacific region. The Singapore assignment included providing functional leadership for Teradata's operations in Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, Greater China and the South Pacific on field programs as well as issue resolutions, sales planning, solutions offers, strategic marketing and sales execution.


    Hand started his career with NCR in Melbourne during 1980 as a sales cadet. He quickly rose through the ranks and has worked for NCR as a sales representative, account manager, district manager, retail marketing manager, director of retail industry consulting and director of marketing and strategic planning.


    Hand is currently based in Tokyo and has broad international experience resulting from service in the United States, Australia and Singapore.
